Vets has been hired by Environmental Operations, Inc. to provide mine closure services for the former Anschutz Subsite located near Fredericktown, Missouri. The project consists of remediating all historical mining and mine works including five (5) former tailings ponds, a metallurgical pond, remnants of an old mill/smelter and associated slag pile. The work is time sensitive and being monitored by the EPA ahead of re-opening the underground mine and its 35 million pounds of Cobalt reserves. All total, over 600,000 CY of mine waste and clay/topsoil capping will be excavated and relocated by the end of 2020.
