VetWSS successfully bid this SDVOSB set-aside work order whose purpose was to prepare an 18,000 square foot area within the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for future burials. Crews first planned the excavation and marked the area off into grids. Earth was excavated and when rock was encountered it was broken up and removed offsite and clean fill was hauled in. This procedure was repeated until the entire 18,000 square foot area was excavated to a 9’ depth and backfilled. Upon the completion of the excavation the entire site was graded and sod was placed in the disturbed area. Once the sod was placed an irrigation system was installed so that the new sod could be watered for 30 days.
