Fort Leonard wood Sediment bag removal

The water plant on the installation takes its raw water from the Big Piney River.  Over time the water plant’s sediment basins had filled with sludge.  A previous contract had pumped the sludge material into 14 sediment bags where the material had been allowed to drain for several months.  Our contract involved loading the material from the bags onto trucks and taking it to a permitted landfill for disposal.  All total, we transported 4,657 tons of waste from the water plant to landfills in Jefferson City and Hartville, Missouri.
